Text-to-Speech (Read Aloud)

Enable read-aloud support in games so questions are spoken in 10+ languages.

Text-to-Speech (TTS) reads questions and answers aloud during games, making content accessible to students with reading difficulties, visual impairments, or language learning needs. It supports over 10 languages and works across all game modes that use text-based questions.

Enabling TTS

  1. Open the game editor for any game.
  2. Find the "Read Aloud" or "Text-to-Speech" toggle in the game settings.
  3. Enable it and select the language for your questions.
  4. During a live session, toggle the "Teacher Voice" button to enable or disable TTS for all students.
  5. Students can also toggle TTS on their own devices if the teacher allows it.

Supported Languages

TTS supports English (US and UK), Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and more. The language selection applies to all questions in the game. If your class has multilingual students, you can create separate versions of the same game in different languages.

When to Use TTS

TTS is especially valuable for early readers, ESL/ELL students, students with dyslexia, and any situation where reading aloud would benefit comprehension. It also works well for language learning classes where listening comprehension is part of the lesson objective.
