Student Troubleshooting
Quick fixes for common issues students face during games.
Technology does not always cooperate, but most issues have simple fixes. Before asking your teacher for help, try these troubleshooting steps. They resolve the vast majority of problems students encounter during Wittigo sessions.
Common Fixes
- If the join code doesn't work, double-check the code with your teacher. Codes are case-insensitive.
- If you get disconnected, re-enter the join code and your same name to rejoin the session.
- If the webcam doesn't work for Head Tilt, try refreshing the page and allowing camera permissions again.
- If the page freezes, close and reopen your browser tab. Your progress may be saved.
- Use a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari) for the best experience.
- If a course activity does not load, try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to clear the cache.
When to Ask for Help
If you have tried the steps above and something still is not working, tell your teacher exactly what you see. Saying "It is broken" is not very helpful. Instead, say something like: "The join code ABC123 says "Session not found"" or "The camera preview is black even after I clicked Allow." Specific details help your teacher solve the problem faster.
