Building a Lesson Plan

Structure your entire class period with stages, activities, and linked resources.

A well-structured lesson plan is the backbone of effective teaching. The Wittigo Lesson Planner lets you build complete class periods stage by stage, linking your games and resources directly into the flow. The result is a cohesive plan that keeps you on track and ensures every minute of class time is purposeful.

Creating a Plan

  1. Navigate to "Lesson Planner" in the sidebar. Click "Create New Lesson Plan".
  2. Fill in the lesson metadata: title, subject, grade band, learning objective, total duration, and materials needed.
  3. Add stages to build your lesson flow: Warm-Up, Introduction, Objectives, Instruction, Game, Resource, Group Activity, Reflection, Homework, or Custom.
  4. For Game stages, link one of your saved games. For Resource stages, link an uploaded resource file.
  5. Use the AI Lesson Planner (Premium) to auto-generate a complete lesson structure from just a topic and grade level.
  6. Print or share your completed lesson outline. The printed version includes all stages, durations, and notes in a clean format.

Stage Types Explained

Each stage type serves a specific pedagogical purpose. Warm-Up stages are designed for quick 3–5 minute activities that prime student thinking. Game stages link directly to your Wittigo games and include estimated play time. Reflection stages prompt students to think about what they learned. Custom stages give you full flexibility for anything not covered by the defaults.
