Joining a Live Game

Enter a join code, choose your name, and verify your passphrase if your class uses one.

Joining an Wittigo game is designed to be as simple as possible. You do not need an account, an email address, or a normal password. Most of the time, all you need is the 6-digit join code your teacher displays on the screen. If your teacher uses a classroom roster, you may also be asked to confirm your two-icon passphrase after choosing your name.

How to Join

  1. Your teacher will display a 6-digit join code on the classroom screen.
  2. Go to the Wittigo join page (or the link your teacher shares).
  3. Enter the join code.
  4. Choose your name from the class list, or type your name if your teacher is not using a roster.
  5. If a passphrase screen appears, tap your first secret icon, then your second secret icon. Choose them in the same order shown on your passphrase card.
  6. Click "Join Game" to enter the lobby.
  7. Wait for your teacher to start the game. You'll be assigned to a team.
  8. Answer questions as they appear. Your score contributes to your team's total!

Why You Might See a Passphrase Screen

A passphrase protects your student profile. It stops someone else from joining with your name and keeps your points, coins, XP, and progress connected to the right person. It is not an account password and you do not need to type anything. You only select your two icons.

Tips for Success

Use your real first name so your teacher can identify you on the leaderboard. If the join code does not work, double-check it with your teacher because a single wrong digit will prevent entry. If you forget your passphrase icons, ask your teacher to show your card or create a new passphrase. Make sure you have a stable internet connection, especially for modes like Head Tilt that use your webcam.
