Creating a Course

Build structured, self-paced or assigned learning paths with lessons and activities.

Courses in Wittigo are structured learning paths that guide students through content at their own pace or on your schedule. A course contains multiple lessons, and each lesson contains a sequence of activities. Think of a course as a digital textbook where every chapter has interactive exercises instead of static reading.

Setting Up a Course

  1. Navigate to "Courses" in the sidebar and click "Create New Course". Give it a title, description, subject, grade, and difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard).
  2. Upload a cover image to make your course visually appealing in the library. Set an estimated duration so students know how long it will take.
  3. Set the language of your course content — Wittigo supports multilingual courses for international classrooms.
  4. Add tags to help with discoverability (e.g., "fractions", "algebra", "year 5"). Tags are used when searching the community course library.
  5. Courses start as drafts. Once your lessons and activities are ready, click "Publish" to make the course available to students or your school.
  6. Premium courses can be marked as "Premium only" to restrict access. School plans include all premium courses by default.

Draft vs. Published

Draft courses are only visible to you. This lets you build and refine content without students seeing incomplete work. Once published, the course becomes available based on your visibility settings. You can unpublish a course at any time to make edits, though students who have already started will retain their progress.
